What a terrible state a man is in who, through some inner compulsion, is slowly but certainly destroying his own life. What sombre power was in control of that man? It was a demonic power driving him further and further to ruin from which he could not free himself. The consequences of addition are the clearest example of self-destruction.
But the sin of a dissolute life also leaves a shipwrecked life and ruined health. The solution to the misery of sin is in Christ (TGS 04-04-09).
Time will tell.
