Prepare your heart and mind as you wait for the wind of the Holy Spirit.

The wind blows where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8.

Practicing spiritual disciplines is similar to building a windmill. Our disciplines do not compel the Holy Spirit to work on our behalf but by developing habits that draw us nearer to God, we are in a better position to be propelled by the Spirit’s power when he moves (Bill Sytsma).
