Man loved a woman and thought that in her love and faithfulness he would find all the comfort and delight for which his heart longed. Women are meant to be a comfort, a blessing, and many of them are.
But alas, however many loved ones God puts around us, they cannot give peace to the tormented mind and sinning soul.
At her best, a wife cannot fill the need of a sin-sick soul. At her worst, she can only add heartbreak and trouble and vice versa.
