Are you an ant or swallow? Leave worry, anxiety to those without Christ for wealth and activity without Christ results in sorrow of the heart.
The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal; 2 Corinthians 4:18.
Here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come; Hebrews 13:14.
A fable tells of a young swallow that, seeing all the activity of the ants, asked them what the purpose of their work was. “We are making provision for the winter,” the tiny creatures replied. “That’s very wise,” replied the swallow, “I’ll do the same as you.” And it set about piling up flies, spiders and other insects in the nest.
“What are you doing?” asked its astonished mother. “I’m gathering together provisions for the winter. That’s what the ants have taught me.” – “My dear child, leave that to the ants; they have no wings like us. When the summer has ended, we shall leave these regions and go to a country where we shall lack nothing.”
