Look up to Jesus and stop worrying about everything. Are you His disciple? Then, stop worrying about what to eat or drink, about your fears and inadequacies.
Jesus said to them, take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, it is because we have taken no bread. But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves? Matthew 16:6-8.
What was the disciples’ reaction then? They “reasoned among themselves”. What do we do? Exactly the same thing! Our thoughts go around in circles, turning around the same problem. The Lord calls that “little faith”.
Whether the problem is our fault or not, we can bring every single one to Him, asking Him for help and peace. We can entrust everything to him and expect everything from Him. In this way we shall be in a position to listen to his voice and His word despite all that is contrary to our wishes. The sad thing about it is that this form of “little faith” prevents us from seeing the greatness of the glory of Christ; so our view of the source of joy and strength is no longer clear.
