Believe and know… believe before you understand.
I believed and therefore I spoke; 2 Corinthians 4:13
I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life; 1 John 5:13
To understand or apprehend divine truths with our intelligence, we have to receive and believe them. The moral and spiritual content of the Word of God is first grasped through faith, which comes by hearing the Word of God. That is how God reveals Himself. Jesus rejoiced that this revelation was hidden from the wise and intelligent, but was known by small children (Luke 10:21). “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Who can explain how the Lord will resurrect the bodies of those whom he has redeemed at his coming and take them to glory, without making a mistake? If you insist on understanding that before believing it, you are wasting your time and may lose your soul. God expects us to believe, and throough our faith He gives us the assurance that we need. “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
